The ship that...

A ship set sail almost three years ago and though it was a small ship, it was constantly upgraded and improved till it became a large and stable ship. Recently, the ship sailed into rougher seas... Very soon, as the storm came in, the ship lost control and steered towards a coral reef. As the ship headed to the coral reef, everyone on board was willing with all their might that the ship can turn off the course of eminent destruction and towards safety. It was however, not their day.

The ship cruised into the rough coral reef and as the corals scrapped against the hull of the ship, everyone n board looked with fear. Most jumped off the ship except for the two who made the ship what it was today. They knew, it was either let it sink or to save the ship. The hull was breached by the time they got to it. Water was gushing in by gallons and gallons. As I bailed the water out anxiously and with everything I could muster, it wasn't helping the ship to stay afloat. He decisively tried to fix the hull while I continued bailing gallons and gallons of water in a bid to save the sinking ship.

Those people that jumped off the ship saw the ship's eminent destruction and was certain of its doom. However, with a lot of perseverance and effort, the two finally managed to fix the hull and stop the leaks. They continued bailing the rest of the water out and soon, the ship was afloat once again, despite the certainty that those people who abandoned the ship had that the ship was certain for destruction.

This is the main crux of my story with my boyfriend over the past few weeks and months. This is one of the reasons why I've not been updating my blog regularly. The other reason being me too lazy to do that.

To my boyfriend that might be reading this, I love you and thank you for choosing me and not to follow the others and abandon the ship. I hope that this ship of ours will continue to sail towards our destination which will be filled with mystery, joy and happiness. I want to spend my entire life with you! You might not believe this but I know that you are the one for me. It seems, no matter what, you are the only one with the knack to calm me down when I am really angry and the ability to make me smile in my time of extreme sadness. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there with me during all these times. I want you to know that I really love you and care for you. And I want to do that for the rest of my life. I hope you will allow me this request.

Love,

AudioFlies: aJays-Three Review

I got the a-Jays three almost 3 years ago when it first emerged in the market. At that time, the earpiece had the most fantastic box in the market. Rubberized box that had an annoying open mechanism that required you to use a pen or anything sharp to poke the hole to open the box. That aside, the box was clearly the main attraction and I would think the company spent quite a lot of R&D on the box because it fitted  quite a lot of items in it including a airplane adapter, a duo plug adapter so you can share music on your single device, 3 pairs of extra ear buds of different sizes so you can get a real good fit, a carrying case which was hard covered, the earpiece itself and the warranty card. Fitting all that into one box was definitely tricky but they did a fantastic job of that. Also, my box became an ant's next later because it was so sealed up and only had one entrance (the hole to poke the box and open it).

The good
One good thing about the aJays would be the fact that they included the airplane adapter and the duo plug adapter which is usually only included in expensive earphones and earpiece sets of excess of 150. This pair was only SGD98 when I bought it. My boyfriend had one as well and listening to it, I thought it was an excellent buy.

I have to say that the a-Jays boast a fantastic bass response and have proven to be excellent for lows to mids. That of course means it is fantastic for the people who prefer listening to R&B and pop songs. Also, it has rather low impedance of 16 ohms which makes it excellent on low powered devices such as ipods and iphones (and other phones). With my ipod, it boast a rather heavy bass even with the ipod's low power driver that could not help to power the bass response for my other earphones like the JBL J55 which has a significantly higher impedance of 32 ohms.

The bad
But of course there are some faults to it. One really bad thing about the aJays would be the design of the earpiece itself. It is ridiculously uncomfortable to place in your ears such that it would cause a marking on my ear every time I would put it in for long trips on the public transport. Other than that, the earbuds do a pretty decent job of blocking out the ambient noises from the environment.

That aside, on the performance wise, the aJays havent been excellent on the part of clarity. Most songs sang by female artistes will lead your ears to the death.

Adele, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey among others songs won't be the best songs for you to listen on your aJays due to the fact they make the highs seem a little too sharp to handle. Your ears will bleed from the sharpness. That is probably the only flaw of the aJays. It isn't a versatile earpiece. But, you cannot blame them because they made the bass response excellent and by upping the bass, some clarity is bound to be sacrificed. For it's price, I believe it to be worth it. Though, I must say that my brother owns a aJays one. That earpiece lacks the bass and has enhanced clarity compared to the aJays three. So if you are avid fans of Ellie Gouding, Lily Allen or Dido or the likes of female artistes which boast a powerful high pitch voice, then the aJays one will do fantastic. Not to mention, it is cheaper.

Service and Warranty
The Ajays comes with a two year warranty which I used once. The good thing about the warranty was the fact that it was prompt and even though I didn't register until I needed the warranty, they could still process my warranty claim rather quickly. The service center is located in a factory district in the far ends of serangoon but it was rather accessible for me as I had a rather direct bus from Tampines. The entry to the building wasn't as smooth as I would like. I had to surrender my IC to the guard post and headed for the service center. They were quick with replacement after asking for my problem which I promptly replied that the connector had disconnected. I learnt that because of the old design, this was a rather common problem. They fixed the problem and gave me an updated model in a one-to-one exchange and even gave me extra earbuds. The updated model had an L-shaped plug which meant no more sticking out plug that don't fit nicely into your pockets and significantly lesser chances that the connecting plug would disconnect from the extensive rubbing and abuse.

If anybody needs the address of the aJays service center, it's as stated below. The company doing the service is a third party company that brings in products like aJays and .

 They are located at :
52 Serangoon North Ave 4
#03-01B, AEM Building
Singapore 555 853
They are open from 9.30am – 5.30pm on Mondays to Fridays (Please note that they are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays).

Durability
I would like to add that the aJays three is the most durable earpiece I had gotten so far. It had undergone so much abuse from me and the only thing that gave way was the plug and that was because of a poor design (which they fixed). I have to say, it has a very durable tangle free cable which also meant that if it tangled, it is harder to un-tangle it. However, my 2 years of using them, they only tangled itself 3 times so far. Also, I tend to always stuff the earpiece into my pockets so they had to endure rubbing against my pockets and stuff. And, I have to add this is the most durable earpiece ever because it undergone 2 washes in the washing machine and yet it still worked perfectly without any problems! That, my friend... is prove that this Swedish made earpiece are probably the most durable earpiece ever.

My overall Verdict
This is an excellent buy for Pop and R&B lovers due to the Heavy Bass Impact/Response it has. I do say, that I miss my aJays three because I lost them some time back due to my carelessness. But they were the best built earpiece would clearly be a great first earpiece for all budding audiophiles out there. A word of advice: Don't try using this with screamo/heavy metal music though. Your ears will literally bleed. Overall, my rating is an 8 out of 10. A great buy for its durability and excellent bass response. If you don't mind the slight discomfort in them. The Ajays 5 is a recent release is SGD$128 if I am not wrong and they re-designed the earpiece for better comfort. If you seek comfort, you might want to invest a couple of ten dollars more for the extra comfort.

For those with a lesser budget, you can get the Ajays one which does not boast as good of a bass as the ajays three but is the same in all aspects of design. It however doesn't come with the accessories that come with the Ajays three except for the booklet and the case and extra earbuds. It costs only SGD$58 at any good earphone shops. You can also get them at Isetan.

Word of advice: due to the durability of the product, you might want to photocopy the receipt as it tends to "spoil" only after the 1 and a half year mark and your receipt is most probably faded by then. Have fun experimenting on these earpiece. Peace out!

Audiophiles! The journey towards one. Terms (part one)

Firstly, this is a new section of the clarevoiyant blog. This section shall be called audioflies.

So, here are some terms you might need to know before you start your journey to become and audiophile. Of course that would mean throwing away (or at least giving them to your little destroyer kid to rip apart) that default samsung or iphone/ipod earphones. They are not audipphile quality and if anyone of you want to explain to me how good it is, please. You are not even on the audiophile-beginner level. You should take a listen to the Sennheiser CX300 at least before you judge your default earpiece. That is to use only in emergency when your good earpeice spoils and requires a fixing. Anyways, on with the terms.

  • Earpiece: The one that looks like this. Earpieces like these typically range from anything from SGD$5 (default iphone earpiece) to SGD$1299 (Shure SE525). Obviously the most expensive ones will get you the best balance and sound. However, if you don't want or don't have enough budget, I suggest you get a "starter kit" earpiece that range from SGD$50 to $100.
  • Inner-ear: Earpieces that are like that below
  • Outer-ear: Earpieces similar to the iphone/ipod default earpeice.

These are some of the starter earpiece that I would suggest you to get (after trying them out)
1. ajays-one
2. ajays-three
3.Audio Technica CKM 55
4. Sennheiser CX300 II
5. Klipsch S4
6. Beyerdynamics DTX 101 iE
7. Bose IE2
I suggest number 1-4 for budget budding audiophiles looking for quality without the higher price tag. For those looking at over SGD$100, the number 5 to 7 suits well.

  • Earphones: This is the one that look likes two cups one on the left and one of the right, attached together by a head band. This type are good for creating more balanced music.
  • Open Back: The cups are open vented (usually) which gives greater clarity and sound stage. However, it often also increases surrounding annoyance especially when your music is on too loud. Some people just don't appreciate your type of music.
  • Closed Back: The cups are closed something like the picture below.

  • Driver: Most earpiece and headphones/earphones use dynamic drivers which are basically like little hammers that hit the air to compress air and create the sound you hear. The rule of thumb in general is the larger the driver, the better sounding the music you have. Though this isn't always the case. See the klipsch X10 as an example. That earpiece is so small but it has amazing balance and sound stage. Also, a great price tag.
  • Armature: There are some earpiece and earphones that don't use dynamic drivers. They use armatures which are essentially miniature robotic arms that punch the air to create the sound you hear. These come in single, double, triple and quadruple. The more arms, the larger the earpiece. These are slightly technical in nature so, if you are looking for a warm and balance sounding earpiece or a bassy one, these won't be for you. Plus, these exponentially become more expensive the more arms they have.
These are basically some types of earpiece and headphones you can get. Rule of thumb wise, don't get a earphone before a earpiece. Because the earphones will sound better than the earpiece but remember, it isn't portable. To get a similar quality earpiece, you will be spending quite a lot more. Next time: How to describe music from a earpiece/headphone and my story of journeying towards becoming and audiophile.

A little less known secret

You reading this probably want to find out what this secret of mine is. Is that right? It's more of a confession of my habits than my deepest darkest secret. So here goes. I sleep Naked. It's kind of a thing I've developed since primary 5-6 and I've been doing so diligently every night till today. It bothers my boyfriend a lot because he isn't comfortable sleeping naked but I am totally okay with it and he kind of feels like the odd one out if he wears something to sleep. But still, he can't completely be naked and sleeping though we did it once or twice.

How did it come about?
I would say that my clothes automatically came off in the night. Something on the line of magic and it has always been a mystery as to how my clothes always seem to come off in the night. At first when it did happen it was comfortable and it happened only once or twice a week. As it happened more often, I already was comfortable not wearing anything to sleep. I just facilitated my body by taking them off before going to bed. That would save me the trouble of taking them off in the night. There is still one clothing I haven't been able to take it off at night due to its body hugging tightness and the very complicated large arm holes and X back. And today, it happens anywhere as long as it is my bed or with my boyfriend. Except one time on a school trip to Germany, I was rooming with a classmate and I don't know how or why, my pants and underwear came off in the night (though it was freezing at -15 oC outside). Luckily, I am an early bird so I woke up first and got dressed before he even realized I didn't sleep with my pants on for the night.

Does anyone know about this?
Well, as I've mentioned above, my boyfriend knows about this secret of mine and is still kind of apprehensive to the idea but of course I don't care if he sleeps naked or not. As long as I get to sleep my way because it is just plain uncomfortable to sleep in clothes. My mum found out about this in the worse way possible. She walked into my room in possibly the dead middle of the night when I was practically naked, sprouting a woody and without sheets on. The next thing I knew was a punch in the dick. Not that it hurt a lot (luckily it wasn't in the balls) but I think I woke up a little and went back to sleep. She would now and then tell the story of how she know about my sleeping habits. Not that I mind, my whole family now knows about it. Other than that. No. No one else knows about it.

Isn't it awkward to spot a woody in the morning, and how do you get out of bed in the morning?
Yes it is awkward but it happens to even the best of boys (and men). So I guess its normal then. I think its an excellent way to wake your boyfriend up (especially if he's the type to laze in bed all day and refuse to get out of bed even when you call him to wake up for an infinite times). Well, I do that to my boyfriend and he certainly wakes up fast. One benefit for woodys. Very efficient alarm clocks. How do I get out of bed in the morning. Surely I wouldn't want someone to get a shock of their lives in the morning so what I do is take my clothes off before I sleep and place them at the foot of my bed. If that fails, I always have an extra brief at the side of my pillows so that I take them and wear them before going to wash up. That way I at least don't parade my privates to anyone.

Some benefits of sleeping naked.

Boost your anti-aging hormones: Plenty of people like to feel cozy at bedtime, but a sleep environment that's too warm can prevent the natural cooling that should take place in your body while you sleep.
Keeping your body or your bedroom too warm (higher than 70˚F (21˚C) will disrupt the release of your main anti-aging hormones, melatonin and growth hormone. When we sleep in total darkness, melatonin is released, triggering a very slight but critical cool-down in the body. As body temperature drops, growth hormone is released and works its regenerative magic.
That is probably one reason my boyfriend always jokes with me that I am too young for anything though I am older than he is by a year. Even at supermarkets and convenience stores, the cashiers always ask for my IC when I purchase an alcoholic drink. I don't look 18? Sheesh. I better enjoy it while it lasts.
Better body composition: As mentioned, wearing heavy blankets or clothing to bed will impede the release of growth hormone, which means you won't burn fat while you sleep or benefit from night-time repair of your bones, skin and muscles.
Growth hormone (HGH) affects just about every cell in the body. It's essential for tissue repair, muscle building, bone density and healthy body composition. People who sleep less than six hours a night may be three times more likely to develop a condition which leads to diabetes and heart disease (and in turn, weight gain), according to researchers at theUniversity of Warwick. When your sleep is insufficient, your cortisol and hunger hormones both surge, causing a corresponding increase in insulin. You also experience decreases in the fat-burning and appetite-controlling hormones.
Lower cortisol and belly fat: As you cool down at night and growth hormone increases, cortisol will also decrease with healthy sleep patterns. Between the hours of 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. is the time when your body is truly resting and recuperating (and cortisol should be at it's lowest). By 2 a.m., your adrenal glands (stress glands) begin to work to produce cortisol, in preparation for the next day, which also peaks at 4 a.m. and then should naturally reach its highest point around 6 a.m. -- just at the right time to get you up out of bed feeling energized.
On the nights that you do not sleep enough, you will wake with a level of cortisol that is abnormally high. This is known to trigger your appetite -- especially for comfort foods (muffins, cookies, etc.) and your tendency to overeat, increase tension/anxiety and fuel belly fat -- even in people who are otherwise thin.
High cortisol levels weaken the body's immune system, raise blood pressure and cholesterol, increase appetite, disrupt our normal sleep patterns, lower your libido, and increases cravings for sugar and carbs. It will also contribute to other hormonal imbalances and health conditions including PMS, infertility, thyroid disease and abnormal blood sugars.
Well, maybe singaporean men should all sleep without clothes because most of them are owners of a very very full and round tummy. Probably the result of having white rice (high in glucose) as a staple food.
Ode to oxytocin: If you and your partner both sleep in the nude, you can be reaping the benefits of this feel-good hormone. Skin to skin touching (with intimacy, a massage, intercourse, or cuddling) is all that is required. Also involved in sexual responsiveness and orgasm, the hormone oxytocin counteracts stress and depression by combating the harmful effects of cortisol and reduces blood pressure. It has also been shown to improve gut motility and decrease intestinal inflammation. Another bonus? More .. ahem ... opportunities. Let's face it, there's nothing that turns your partner off faster than head-to-toe flannel pajamas. And orgasms are nature's best sleep aid.
This is the main reason why I ask my boyfriend to sleep in the nude with me. Let's reap some oxytocin benefits together!

Food Escapade: Baci Reviews (Italian)

My boyfriend and I both are foodies. We love to cook, eat and find the best of the best food. Of course, our current allowance wouldn't allow us from getting food that are really worth their price. Which is definitely out of our reach given our weak financial backing. Anyways, we decided on one thing though, that we will try our best to complete the world food travel (around Singapore) which means we have to eat at least a meal at all types of food around the world, Turkish, Thai, Malaysian, Italian, Spanish, German, English etc. This time, we tried our hand at Italian cuisine.

And if you would mind me saying it was delizioso! I'm a maniac on saving money when it comes to eating and buying stuffs. This time, I bought a groupon voucher for $60 worth of Italian food that was in a serious sense, too much food for both of us to finish. I ordered a pork chop, he ordered a roast chicken for the mains. We had a country mushroom soup which came is a slightly too big bowl for anyone to finish. Trust me. It's not a starter. It's a main. Are they trying to feed a starving man or what? Ridiculous portions but seriously delicious and rather cheap food.

By the time we went there to get our food, it was already almost filled to the brim with customers. Being a walk-in and self-service cafe/restaurant, we sat down and contemplated what to order for dinner. I know my boyfriend was starving at that time given he usually eats at 5 30 in camp and it was closing to 6 30. My tiramitsu that I wished so much to try was sold out and so was the red velvet which left me with only two other choices: the waffles and the creme brulee. In which I chose the waffles which later turned out to be a very very very bad idea. My boyfriend also ordered a 10 inch pizza. That was basically the spread and it came fairly quickly. The restaurant was swarmed with people and I believe that they didn't expect their groupon voucher to sell so hotly. When I reach home to check, there was already a 1000+ people who bought the voucher. I was so packed that people who came in at 7 30 were turned away because they had run out of food.
The restaruant/ cafe door. The interior was designed in a rather modern and cozy place. Great for catching up with friends and a cheap place for a non-romantic date.

Porkchops that was seriously good. The sauce was amazing and the meat was juicy.

The roast chicken with sweet and sour peppers. A rip off of my recipe man! See my pork chops with sweet and sour peppers. Luckily my boyfriend said my sauteed peppers and onions tasted much better!

My boyfriend and his obsession with pizza. This pizza was good though.

The table spread. Missing the soup which came later. Wait! didn't the menu state the soup as a starter or was it... a filler?
This is the crazy soup and the cute coffees they serve. Soup: not worth it. You might as well spend the money on the pizza or more coffee. Too much milk and too little flavour.\

When the waffles came, we were so stuffed we didn't finish this humongous waffle. It was however very delicious with the crisp outer layer and chewy inner layers coated with flowery maple syrup and over-ripened strawberries and whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce.

Verdict
Ambience - Great
Food - Great
Cost - $30 per pax
Overall - Must Try!

Shopping online

I am fast exceeding my monthly allowance. And this is all because of the advent of such a thing as online shopping. It's terribly exciting with all the possibilities, all the choices, all the friggin sales and promotions, all the unique items you can't buy offline. So here I am, two months continuously, I have been far exceeding my limits. It's not that bad till I am spending into my next month's "allowance" but still, I almost have nothing left to save. Then again. shopping makes me happy. :)

So, I ordered so many things online. From shoes to bags, to jeans, to vests, to wallets, to vouchers, to hotel deals and even air tickets. It's so convenient and so much cheaper even with the shipping and all. So here's a little package that arrive a month ago but I didn't tell any of you because I wanted to try the products out and see how good they are before commenting on them because that, would seem more like judging the book by its cover per se.
1. Nike Free Run 5.0 which was discussed in my previous post at this if you haven't yet read it yet.
2. ASOS stripe sleeveless tee which is so airy and comfortable. And, my boyfriend likes me in stripes so I got this.
3. NIKE backpack. I am a bag freak. I have so many bags I sometimes don't know which bag to carry out but I still buy more bags because they entice me so much. I do love my rive island carryall but it's too huge to carry it and my boyfriend will chide me every-time I carry that out because we have the same bag and that means (in his sense at least) that he cannot carry that bag out. By the way, this bag is a great buy for only SGD 21.59! What a steal!
4. My river island leather embossed wallet. I'm quite a fan of England because I feel that the design of the union jack is so attractive. Maybe it's the colors but it is seriously a good design almost anywhere.

The total price tag for all of those was a whooping SGD 120 which is quite a slice of my allowance. I am happy with them so I won't say anything about them.

Today, my extreme racer vest came and I came to realize what my boyfriend meant when he said these vest was revealing.

Blog haitus (a week) and My crazy boyfriend's mind

Me and my boyfriend has been on quite the food adventure lately. And with that, there has been a slight misunderstanding of my intents. I merely just want my food loving boyfriend to enjoy his food and have fun simply because seeing him smile makes me really happy. Clearly he thought of this as a sort of "prisoner's last meal before the officer shouts 'dead man walking'." Well, obviously I didn't intent for a great dinner to turn up scaring the shit out of my boyfriend thinking that I would soon break up with him. But, it definitely was quite funny when we had a talk later (over the phone) about what he felt, and had the cheek to say that he thought it was his "last meal". Of course, it was darn hilarious. I would think he didn't laugh because he felt more embarrassed by it. But heck, it really is funny and that's how cute he is.

Anyways, the adventure will be told in another post after this. I will then attempt to explain why I didn't have the chance to blog in the past one week or so. Sorry people. It was definitely tiring for me too with my diploma exams, the last minute studying and all the nights I can't sleep because I am not with my dearest boyfriend. I don't know when I developed this reliance of having him next to me before I sleep very very very well, but, I just don't feel refreshed and awake when I sleep and wake up without him next to me. I guess the fact he is there gives me the feeling of being protected and comfortable enough for me to relax. I do know that prior to our overseas trip, my boyfriend always had trouble sleeping with me (not in the dirty way you are thinking. Just sleep. Sheesh!) which he clearly kept to himself not wanting to hurt me. So yeah, now he tells me he can sleep beside me comfortably. That's a win for me then.

Anyways, truth be told. I've not been blogging because I am plain lazy. Ha! Yes. I am lazy. I just had my exams and I think I ought to have some time for myself. I've been using this time to catch up to my favorite animes: Naruto and One Piece. Disappointing that Naruto had so many fillers. Obviously I didn't use 5 days to watch the measly few episodes I missed in the last 2 months. I spent the rest of the time shopping online and yes, I broke my month's budget yet again! Darn those good offers! I'll show you what I got when it all comes. Btw, I also watched pewdiepie's channel on youtube. I don't really like to subscribe to channels so yeah, I'm not a bro. But that said, if he makes more crazy wheels videos I might join the bro army. Anyways, I would like to congratulate pewdiepie on being the most subscribed channel on youtube surpassing Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift! He's so hilarious if you haven't yet watch him, go view his vids! I'm sure even the person who doesn't laugh ever will laugh at at least one of his videos! Binkt is my favourite name he uses. Binkt the ball, binkt the squishy thingy he throws and binkt the journey eagle thingy. Let's bring the hate on the barrels!
Pewdiepie and his epic brofist ending (always does it in every single video)

My Nike Free Runs have arrived! Time to start training!

Hi all. I've received my nike free runs 5.0 from my online purchase at only $65 dollars. But, I am not a runner, so why should I even spend money on a pair of running shoes when I already got almost every NS boy's asics shoes? The reason is simple and its one word: Boyfriend. He wants me to have thin legs which can only be done if I manage to go for long distant jogs at least once in two weeks. I kind of regret my decision to work towards his fetish (even though he denies it is one I know it is his fetish for thin smooth legs).

Okay, how about let me show you a glimpse of the differences in our legs.
These are my so called fat legs.
These are my boyfriend's legs.
I guess that is how thin he wants my legs to tone down to be. That would mean more training and that means I am going to regret this. Why oh why did I choose to tone my legs down. Now that I began my first 2 clicks yesterday, I am going to have to complete my training till I can jog at least 10 clicks before I join my boyfriend on jogs. I hope that seasoned runner boyfriend doesn't go too fast like the last time nearly killing me just to catch up to him. How can that lil' thing run so fast?

Boyfriend: Day One in the New Unit

Today is day one for my boyfriend in his new unit. Knowing him, he'll be all stressed up with all the uncertainties of being in the new unit. Like, what's the place like, what buddy he is going to have, will be be nice?, the food in the new place, and, even the way to get there. Luckily for him, his parents forked out some money for him to take a cab to the place. If not, my poor boy would have to drag his over 20 kg worth of NS junk to camp.
Look at the size of that bag. I have one too and I remembered the days when we first carried that monster up 8 flights of stairs to the fourth floor of our bunk and then the last time when I carried it home when I went OOT. It's even bigger size than my boyfriend! You can't expect a smallish twinky boy to carry that monster! Anyways, if you are wondering, the person in the photo isn't my boyfriend. Anyways, my boyfriend is about the same built and size as this fella here.

With the knowledge of my boyfriend's stress, how can I sleep well. Obviously I can't. I didn't sleep till 1 am though I needed to wake up at 6 this morning because I kept thinking of him. If only I can hug him to calm him down and tell him that I'll be there for him no matter what. He would be calmer and I can have my peace of mind and sleep better. Too bad we aren't cohabiting! I do wish it will happen soon.

Anyways, it sucks to know my boyfriend instead of being sent to a command school is send to some physically grueling unit that focuses on mechanical work. He isn't even trained to do mechanical stuff! Sheesh!

I want your hug dear! I miss you already and there isn't a thing I can do but whine and whine. Boo Hoo! :(

Mothers and Boyfriend

For the whole of yesterday, my boyfriend and I shared our time together to spend time having coffee and sitting around in a cafe. We don't have a place we can share together to have some rest and relax time. My house is out of bounds because my parents have great prejudice about my boyfriend. Not that they know he is my boyfriend, but, I think they suspect he is. They also think he is a bad influence on me. Especially the fact that when I was admitted to hospital for a seizure, he was with me so, I am guessing my mother attributed the occurrence to his presence. My parents have told me a few times in the past to stay away from him, but in reality, I love him with all my heart, and, it would kill me to stay away from him more than 5 days. The longest I've gone without actually touching him (as in holding hands or hugging) is 2 weeks and that was because of confinement in BMT. Besides, I'm lonely without him. He just makes my life so much more interesting and colourful. I don't think I can imagine a life without him. It would just be so grey and boring. So, that concludes the reason why he isn't allowed in my house. I just don't want a rift to split us apart. I rather we spend time outside together but still be able to see each other.

He on the other hand doesn't want to cause suspicion within his christian family which I agree because it would just be too troublesome. With the religious side and the overall singaporean culture and perspective towards such "deviant" behaviour, I don't think going and tell his family he is mine is the best option. We do however steal times when his entire family is out to just lie in each other's arms and enjoy the warmth and company. It's those times I feel the most loved and the happiest. But sadly, it is out of bounds on weekends when we meet up.

Its rather funny how we view our future mother-in-laws. I view my future mother-in-law differently than what my boyfriend views his mum. While I view her to be always in an infinite angry mode, he views her as just loud. I view her as an authoritative person because of her uniform job in the past which from what I know was quite high a rank. I view her as a tiger mum, maybe due to the fact the household is filled with smart asses. My boyfriend's sister is a literary genius, his brother a mathematics and physics Olympiad, and both parents are degree holders and the dad is even studying alternative medicine now! With so many smart asses, she would surely have something to do with their academic standings at least. Plus, she is huge, has a firm and loud voice and very menacing from my view point. But to my boyfriend, she's a nice lady whom he thinks treats his friends too well, always buying treats and snacks for them when they come over. I don't know whether it is fortunate or unfortunate that I haven't had the experience of my future mother-in-law buying treats and snacks for me while I am at his house. I do hope however next time when my boyfriend shifts to his new house, I'd be able to visit and just spend my Saturdays with him in his room playing ps4, wii or xbox or just chatting.
My take, she looks like the typical Singaporean tiger mother. Scary for a boy of my stature.
My mother has always been the loving on of both my parents. My dad had been struggling with army (when he signed on as a pilot), his degree and his part time job as long as I can remember when I was just 4-5. I consistently didn't get to spend time with him. So, most of my time was spent with my mum. Perhaps that is why I find my mum more of the loving one than my dad. Besides, its probably his job nature that makes him very tippy and easily frustrated due to the long working hours that when I was young, even spilling a glass of water would result in dire consequences. So, I view my dad as fierce and my mum as loving. My boyfriend who met them a few times. One time, he was interrogated by them (supposedly when I was half conscious due to the seizure). My boyfriend's image of my mum from then on is a fierce woman. Though my mum has a short stature and is rather thin for reasons such as slimming and what not, she can come across as fierce looking from first glance. So this is probably what she looks like to my boyfriend from what he describes to me.
I hope it didn't scare him too much because he would probably have to face her more often in the future. Besides, I get the feeling my mum is lowly coming to terms with the fact that I may be gay. I just didn't tell her yet. I got a feeling she knows and have been coming to terms with it (together with my dad). I don't think I want to find out now with all the uncertainties so I shall wait.

Next time I meet my future mother-in-law, I'll try my best to put aside my first evaluation of her. Hopefully, we hit off well and it would be a smoother transition as I intend to marry this cute son of hers. :D
